Sub-portfolio
A sub-portfolio is a group you assign holdings to, so that a subset of your positions can be read as a portfolio in its own right. The grouping is a label rather than a separate account: the holdings stay where they are, and the same import feeds every group. What changes is that value, return and the comparison against the index can be read per group as well as for the total.
Why it matters
One brokerage account frequently contains several portfolios with different purposes, and blending them produces a number that describes none of them. A long-term core of trackers and a small satellite of single stocks answer different questions, and so does money held on behalf of someone else. Averaged together, a satellite that trails badly disappears behind a core that did fine, and a satellite that did well takes credit it did not earn. Splitting the measurement is how each part gets held to its own record.
How BullBenchmark shows it
You label each holding with the group it belongs to, and the per-group return is shown against the benchmark just as the total is. Because the labels are applied to positions rather than to files, holdings from two brokers can sit in the same group and one broker's account can be split across several. The portfolio such a grouping is applied to, five holdings spread over two brokers, is open on the demo dashboard.
